Doody sweeps 800 and 1,600 at MOC

Oyster River senior Maegan Doody made sure her final New Hampshire Meet of Champions was a memorable one. 

 

Saturday at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, Doody won the 800 (2:11.43), 1,600 (4:47.85) and ran on the 4x400 relay that captured fourth place (4:09.64).

 

In the 3,200 Exeter sophomore Jacqueline Gaughan impressed, winning the event by nearly 20 seconds ahead of the field, finishing in 10:34.19. 

 

Londonberry senior Jordan Dufresne won the pole vault, clearing 10-3.

 

On the boys' side, Timberlane senior Kyle Faucher won the javelin with a throw of 196-1. Teammate and fellow senior Liam Kimball capped off a strong high school state career, winning the 1,600 in 4:12.98.

 

In the 800, Noah Bellomo of Alvirne narrowly beat out Tim Zepf of Trinity in the 800, clocking 1:56.28, as Zepf was right behind in 1:56.31.

 

Inter-Lakes senior Cameron Daly picked up runner-up honors in the 1,600 (4:13.95) and fifth in the 800 (1:59.58). 

 

Concord's  Angel Feliz won the 100 (11.09) and 200 (22.05) and picked up the victory in the long jump (21-7.75). 

 

Sebastian Eaton of Souhegan went sub-50 in the 400 to win in 49.81.

 

Many of the top athletes will now go on to compete at the New England Championships on Saturday at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, CT.
